On November 15th, at 7 PM the Exhibition of Baltic Illustration and Comics Artists “Trīs Mazās Māsas” is opening in Riga. The Baltic states unlike for example Western European countries or the US don’t have a big tradition of illustration and comic art. Nevertheless kuš! gathered 17 young artists from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to present some of their newest artworks. In all these countries illustration and comic art is only recently starting to become more popular and recognized. So the artists we gathered can be looked at as some kind of pioneers in their countries and several of them were already published or exhibited abroad, where illustration art has wider recognition. We are happy to present artist from all Baltic States, because even though they are so close together, these neighbors or sisters don’t know much about each other so this exhibition hopefully will spark new collaborations.
